"On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday I start my day with Jen Cavallaro. Do I like working out? Not particularly.
Do I laugh, winge, and whine? Absolutely. That’s what’s great about classes via Zoom. You can mute yourself.
But I know that Jen will check in if I don’t show up or text. And I’ll miss catching up with a small group of friends that also show up from coast to coast.
There’s something about the ritual of spending time doing the same thing that brings a sense of togetherness or belonging (even in shared struggles) that I never thought I would get in a workout class.
While I’m action-oriented, I’m learning the benefits of slow, iterative growth. More weight. More reps. More strength intentionally built over time.
When I miss a workout I feel it. When I get a few good weeks in my body loves it. I feel more confident and ready to take on life’s challenges.
That’s what I love about the name of her company: Upward Spiral Fitness. We can choose to make excuses or we can make time to keep pushing forward.
